When was the last time you were brave? I bet it was more recently than you think. 12 3
What is it like to step out on a foreign shore? Exhilarating? Terrifying? Does it feel like an adventure? Like being lost? * 10 0
At kiddy birthday party number 2 this Sunday and have brought my tea in my pretty cup and holing myself away in the corner to have my Sunday meeting with myself. I always notice the week goes so much better if I’ve taken that time to step back and give myself some mental space to ask not only what I have to get done in the coming days, but what I want to get done and how I want to feel. In other words, mapping out priorities. If I’m on it then these are times for noticing when my time allocation is starting to contradict my values. And when I’m not making this time to plan and daydream, my week gets swept out from under me and I get lost in a thousand and one errands and busy work...and self care goes out the window. For ages I didn’t make time for this...and ironically once I called it a “meeting” which was really just about honouring it as important, I started actually doing it. Anyone else have meetings with themselves? We’ve had a mini meditation revolution in our house. Which is hysterical because it involves me being surprised at how powerful a simple meditation can be...and I’m supposed to know all this...and still it totally amazed me. 17 6
I love pearls because they remind me that beautiful stuff can come from the imperfect mess. If our lives were all figured out and we had everything under control and we felt good all the time...we wouldn’t need meditation. We wouldn’t need a “practice”. That’s not how it is though. 12 0
There is something so satisfying about making your own footprints in the sand. Something symbolic that speaks to us about how we want to live our life. 11 1
